Editorial Policy
Our goal is to publish clear, accurate pest information that helps readers understand what they are seeing and when professional help may be appropriate.

Source selection
For pest biology, identification, safety and California regulatory information, we prefer primary or authoritative sources such as UC IPM, CDC, EPA, the California Structural Pest Control Board and relevant local public agencies.
Authorship and review
Blog posts and guides identify the approved author responsible for the published content. Technical claims are checked against the cited sources before publication or meaningful updates.
Local information
Whittier-specific statistics, surveillance data or public reports are used only when a source supports the claim and the date is clear. Community discussions may help identify questions people ask, but they are not treated as scientific evidence.
Corrections and updates
When a factual error is confirmed, the content should be corrected. Time-sensitive information, such as mosquito surveillance, should be reviewed when the underlying public source changes.
Use of editorial tools
Software tools may assist research organization, drafting or editing. They do not replace fact-checking. Published factual claims, metadata and structured information should be reviewed for accuracy and usefulness before release.
